Nanny/Family Assistant Full Time/Live Out

Busy, Loving family is looking to hire an Experienced, Honest Nanny/Family Assistant for their home in Ridgefield, CT

The Ideal Candidate: This close-knit family is excited to welcome a mature, kind, positive, friendly Nanny/Family Assistant into their family for additional household and childcare support. The two sweet boys are 7 and 9 years old and are typically in school from 8:15 am to 4:15 pm. During a typical week, the hours that work best for the family are 7:30 am – 6:00 pm (Tuesday-Friday) and Mondays will be 7:00 am – 6:00 pm because both parents have to leave the house early. Flexibility is key! The Nanny/Family Assistant will offer support during the day, using the time before school to help with breakfast and preparing lunches, as needed, then take the kids to their bus stop at the top of the driveway. During the day while the kids are in school, and before bus pick-up, you will assist with household-related tasks such as helping with the general upkeep of the home (tidying, light housekeeping, cleaning the kid's toys, organizational projects, etc), family laundry, basic errands, grocery shopping, preparing family meals/cooking, etc. Someone who loves to cook and is great at it will thrive in this role. Mom is happy to provide recipes for the Nanny/Family Assistant to prepare if that helps but is also happy to have the candidate cook meals they enjoy cooking if there are things they love to make. In the afternoon, bus pick-up is at 4:15 pm so the Nanny/Family Assistant will meet the kids at the bus stop, help prepare snacks for them, if needed, help them get organized if there is homework to be done, and assist with any driving to after-school activities or sports, as needed. Generally, the boys are self-sufficient and may come home and play basketball, read, do their homework, get ready for activities, etc. The family does not allow their kids to have screen time during the week but the boys are pretty good about that and may play board games, etc. Mom works from home Tuesday-Friday but is in her home office most of the day. The boys do love to run up to her office and say hi when they come home from school! 

What Works Best for Family: Honesty is imperative. And excellent communication is key. Someone with integrity and a warm personality are very important to this family. As mom puts it, "we are not one of those over-scheduled families and we love to spend time together." The parents are very hands-on parents when they are with the kids. They are looking for the candidate to be an extension of their family so trust and honesty are critical. This is an easy-going, loving family who will treat their Nanny/Family Assistant as part of the family. In return, they are looking for a kind, loving, positive, flexible, energetic, caring, and considerate person who will grow with their family for years to come.

Position Compensation

• Salary: $30/hour
• Living Accommodations: Live Out
