We are a loving family of four living in Locust Valley, New York. Our family consists of two children: a 6-year-old autistic son and a 5-month-old daughter. Mom is dedicated to homeschooling the son, while dad works full-time with occasional odd hours. We recently relocated from California and are in need of a dedicated and compassionate nanny to help us care for our children and adjust to our unique family dynamic.
Position Overview: We are seeking a full-time nanny who will provide exceptional care and support for our two children, with a primary focus on our 5-month-old daughter. The ideal candidate should be patient, understanding, and open-minded, capable of adapting to our specific family lifestyle, including accommodating the unique needs of our autistic son. This position may also involve assisting with household tasks, particularly during the transition period as we settle into our new home.
Childcare: Your primary responsibility will be to care for our 5-month-old daughter. This includes feeding, bathing, soothing, and engaging in age-appropriate developmental activities.
Support for Autistic Son: Experience with neurodivergent children is highly desirable. You will need to understand and adapt to our son's particular habits and mannerisms, as well as follow the management methods we have established for his emotional well-being.
Assist with Homeschooling: While the mother is engaged in homeschooling our son, your assistance with managing the household and caring for the baby will be invaluable.
Flexible Schedule: Due to the father's occasional odd working hours, flexibility in your schedule is essential. Early mornings and late evenings may be required to accommodate our children's sleep patterns. Likely something like Monday through Friday, 7am-6pm – can be discussed.
Household Tasks: As we are in the process of unpacking and organizing our new home, you may be asked to assist with light housekeeping and tidying tasks as needed.
Optional On-Site Accommodation: We have a cottage adjacent to the main house and are open to discussing the possibility of you living full-time on the property, should you prefer.
