A private family in Bedford Hills, NY, is seeking a talented and experienced Private Chef to join their busy household. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating delicious and nutritious meals, able to manage a varied and flexible schedule, and possess excellent organizational and communication skills. Responsibilities:

  1. Culinary Expertise:

    • Plan, prepare, and execute daily meals for the family, considering dietary restrictions and preferences.
    • Create diverse and innovative menus that align with the family's tastes and nutritional needs.
    • Manage inventory, grocery shopping, and pantry organization to ensure a well-stocked kitchen.
  2. Flexibility and Adaptability:

    • Demonstrate flexibility in adjusting to the family's schedule, with occasional longer hours during busy periods.
    • Be adaptable to changes in meal plans or dietary requirements.
  3. Time Management:

    • Work approximately 50 hours per week over 5 days, with the understanding that some weeks may be busier than others (closer to 45 hours).
    • Take responsibility for the kitchen schedule, ensuring meals are prepared and served on time.
  4. Weekend Availability:

    • Generally have every 2nd weekend off, with flexibility for special occasions or events.
    • Be open to working occasional weekends as needed.
  5. Communication:

    • Maintain open and clear communication with the family regarding meal preferences, special requests, and any changes to the schedule.
    • Collaborate with household staff to ensure seamless coordination of tasks.
  6. Driving and Shopping:

    • Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
    • Conduct grocery shopping and occasional errands as required.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Private Chef in a similar setting.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of various cuisines, dietary restrictions, and food safety standards.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and priorities.
