Location: Bethesda, MD (near DC)

Job Type: Part-Time (20 hours per week)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM

Salary: $30-35 per hour

Start Date: January – ASAP

Overview: We are seeking a motivated and energetic individual to join a busy household in Bethesda as a Part-Time Family Assistant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing childcare support and assisting with various household management tasks. This position is part-time, with a focus on childcare, errands, family dinners, and light house management.

Responsibilities:

  1. Childcare:

    • Engage with a 7-year-old girl (1st grade) and a 9-year-old boy (3rd grade).
    • Play with the children according to their interests (e.g., dolls, sports).
    • Handle after-school activities and ensure homework completion.
    • Coordinate and supervise playdates.
  2. Household Management:

    • Assist with household errands, including grocery shopping and dry cleaning.
    • Help organize and maintain the children's rooms and common areas.
    • Manage the family calendar and assist with scheduling appointments.
    • Support with meal preparation, such as cutting vegetables and light meal prep.
  3. Transportation:

    • Must have own car for transportation.
    • Responsible for child transportation to and from activities.
  4. Flexibility:

    • Offer flexibility for additional hours during school days off or as needed.
    • Ability to adapt to changing schedules and priorities.
  5. Organization:

    • Assist in keeping the household organized and tidy.
    • Help with laundry, both for the children and potentially for the family.
  6. Communication and Coordination:

    • Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's activities and schedules.
    • Coordinate and manage tasks such as running errands and organizing spaces.
  7. Additional Tasks:

    • Occasionally handle small projects like organizing closets or pantry.
    • Potential involvement in future pet care (currently no pets, but plans for a dog in the future).

Qualifications:

  • Energetic and enthusiastic personality.
  • Ability to engage with children of different ages and interests.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Comfortable making decisions and working with minimal supervision.
  • Previous childcare or household management experience preferred. Client is willing to consider someone with lesser experience such as a student.
  • Open to students with a willingness to learn and adapt.
