8-Week Temporary Full-Time Housekeeper Needed in Wall, NJ (Nov 18 – Jan 10)

Location: Wall, NJ

House Size: 8,000 sq. ft. plus 5,000 sq. ft. basement

Compensation:

  • $30-35 per hour
  • 40 hours per week
  • 5 paid major holidays (increased pay if worked)

Work Schedule:

  • Ideally 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, with flexibility for the right person
  • Consistency is desired once hours are decided upon
  • 40 hours per week

Duration:

  • Temporary position from November 18 to January 10, with the possibility of extension if it's a good fit.

A family in Wall, NJ is seeking an energetic, hardworking, and organized full-time housekeeper for an 8-week temporary position in their new home. This role has the potential to be extended if it proves to be a good fit. The ideal candidate will have experience in deep cleaning, organizing, and general housekeeping tasks. The family has a 9-month-old German Shepherd puppy, so the candidate must be comfortable with dogs. The household consists of four children and two parents, and they are looking for someone to start as soon as possible to deep-clean the home before they move in.

Key Responsibilities:

General Cleaning:

  • Dusting and wiping down all surfaces, including furniture, shelves, and decor items.
  • Vacuuming and mopping all floors, including hardwood, tile, and carpets.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, showers, and bathtubs.
  • Cleaning and maintaining all kitchen areas, including countertops, appliances, and cabinets.
  • Washing windows and glass surfaces.

Deep Cleaning:

  • Performing seasonal deep cleanings, such as scrubbing baseboards, walls, and light fixtures.
  • Cleaning behind and under furniture and appliances.
  • Shampooing carpets and rugs as needed.

Organizing:

  • Maintaining an organized and tidy environment in all living areas, bedrooms, and storage spaces.
  • Assisting with decluttering and organizing closets, pantries, and other storage areas.
  • Ensuring children’s play areas are clean and toys are organized.

Laundry and Linens:

  • Washing, drying, folding, and ironing clothes and linens.
  • Changing bed linens and making beds.
  • Keeping laundry room organized and clean.

Patio and Outdoor Spaces:

  • Cleaning and maintaining patio furniture, including washing and wiping down tables, chairs, and cushions.
  • Sweeping and hosing down outdoor patios, walkways, and entryways.

Other Duties:

  • Assisting with special projects or events as needed.
  • Working alongside a part-time housekeeper currently employed by the family.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a housekeeper with excellent references
  • Background checks and drug testing upon offer of hire
  • Ability to perform a variety of cleaning and organizing tasks efficiently
  • Must be comfortable with dogs, especially the family’s 9-month-old German Shepherd puppy
  • Energetic, hardworking, and reliable
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks
  • Strong organizational skills
