A warm, professional family in Los Angeles is seeking a full-time live-in Newborn Care Specialist to join them during the first critical months of their baby’s life. The family is ideally looking for someone who is open to transitioning into a long-term nanny position following the initial newborn care phase. This is an incredible opportunity for a bilingual (Japanese-English) caregiver who is nurturing, developmentally focused, and passionate about supporting a child's growth through both language and cultural immersion.
The ideal candidate brings a background in newborn care, a deep understanding of early childhood development, and a sincere passion for cultivating a bilingual, enriched home environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Provide expert, hands-on care for a newborn, supporting healthy sleep, feeding, and developmental routines

Promote bilingual development (Japanese-English) through intentional conversation, songs, reading, and consistent language exposure

Create and maintain structured, predictable routines that meet the child’s evolving developmental needs

Collaborate closely with parents to ensure alignment in caregiving philosophies and transitions in care

Engage in enriching, age-appropriate activities as the child grows, supporting curiosity, creativity, and emotional development

Maintain a clean, safe, and nurturing environment at all times

Travel with the family domestically and internationally, as needed
The ideal candidate will have:

Fluency in both Japanese and English (spoken and written)

Significant prior experience working as a Newborn Care Specialist or nanny in a live-in capacity

Emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity, with an appreciation for both American and Japanese values and customs

Strong understanding of infant care, including feeding, sleep shaping, and developmental milestones

A warm, professional demeanor and ability to integrate seamlessly into a household

A background or coursework in early childhood education is strongly preferred

Valid passport and flexibility to travel

CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
