About the Family
A warm and welcoming private family with a beautiful 5-acre property in Millbrook, NY is seeking an experienced part-time Housekeeper to help maintain their main residence (approximately 7,000 sq. ft.) and guest house (approximately 1,500 sq. ft.). The family values consistency, reliability, and discretion and is looking for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys caring for a gracious, older home.
Home Size: Main residence (7,000 sq. ft.) and guest house (1,500 sq. ft.)
Pets: One Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and one cat (both friendly and gentle)
Responsibilities

Perform thorough cleaning and upkeep of the main home and guest house, including deep cleaning and detailed care of all living areas

Dust, polish, and help maintain antique wood furniture, ensuring it is properly cleaned and moisturized to preserve its finish

Assist with grocery shopping and occasional errands as needed

Polish silver and care for delicate household items

Handle organization projects, such as closets, pantries, and storage areas

Prepare the home for family visits and events, ensuring the property looks beautiful and welcoming

Assist with laundry and ironing as needed

Occasionally help with simple meal preparation or cooking (ideal for someone who enjoys being in the kitchen)

Maintain household supplies and communicate any needs or maintenance concerns promptly

Ensure the home is always tidy, well-kept, and ready for family or guests

They are discreet, trustworthy, and respectful of privacy, with experience working in private homes—particularly older homes that require special care. Someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys consistency, and has a warm, positive attitude will thrive in this role. A candidate who enjoys light cooking or baking would be especially appreciated.
Requirements

Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a housekeeper in a private household

Experience caring for fine furnishings, antiques, and silver

Excellent attention to detail and high cleaning standards

Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
