Child-Friendly Housekeeper / Family Assistant — Williamsburg, Brooklyn
A warm and busy family in Williamsburg, Brooklyn is seeking an experienced, child-friendly Housekeeper/Family Assistant to help maintain a well-organized, happy home and provide part-time support with their 2.5-year-old son. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of hands-on household management and occasional childcare, and who takes pride in creating an organized, smooth-running household environment.
Schedule

Monday–Friday: 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Wednesdays & Fridays: Extended “date nights” until 10:30 PM

(Optional) Saturday morning: 4–8 hours (to reach up to 38–40 hours per week)
Role Overview
This position is approximately 65–70% household support and 30–35% childcare. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and nurturing — someone who can balance daily housekeeping tasks with being a warm and dependable presence for a young child.
Key Responsibilities
Household Tasks

Daily kitchen maintenance: load/unload dishwasher, wipe counters, and clean under the dining table.

Hand-wash any non-dishwasher-safe items (special cookware, baby trays, etc.).

Tidy and organize all common areas and the child’s room.

Maintain refrigerator cleanliness: label items, monitor expiration dates, and discard old food.

Manage household and baby laundry: wash, dry, fold, and organize.

Assist with meal planning and grocery shopping — ensuring balanced dinners with protein, carb, and vegetable options for the week.

Stock fresh snacks, milk, and household essentials.

Prep healthy snacks for the child (fruit, cheese, etc.) to minimize processed foods.

Pre-fill milk bottles and organize the child’s daily items.

Maintain the organization of toys, clothes, and school items.

Prepare the child’s school bag each evening.

Clean up after dinner, bath, and playtime each night.
Childcare Tasks

Support parents with after-school and evening routines as needed.

Date nights (2x per week):

Prepare and serve dinner for the child.

Assist with bath, bottle, and bedtime routine.

Occasional weekday support:

Engage in light playtime (indoors or outdoors).

Supervise the child during short periods when parents have calls or are busy.

Morning playtime, snack/lunch prep, and assist with nap routine.

Qualifications

Prior experience as a housekeeper, family assistant, or nanny/housekeeper hybrid.

Compensation

Hourly Rate: Competitive, depending on experience and schedule (30–40 hours per week).
