Position: Temporary Nanny/Family Assistant
Location: Oreland, PA
Schedule:
- Monday–Friday, approximately 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM (flexibility is very important)
- Saturday support once or twice a month would be a major plus – Can switch days off or use to earn extra hours.
Duration: 7 months minimum contract, with the potential to extend
Compensation: $35 per hour
A kind and loving family of four in Oreland, Pennsylvania, is seeking a caring, empathetic, and intuitive Nanny/Family Assistant to provide both childcare and household support during a challenging time. Mom is undergoing treatment for brain cancer and is currently unable to drive. The family is looking for someone who can step in to help keep their household running smoothly and provide assistance for Mom while ensuring the children are well cared for.
Responsibilities:

Assist Mom with daily routines, errands, and appointments (dentist, eye doctor, etc.)

Provide care and support for two children, 6 and 10 years old, including after-school supervision and homework help

Drive Mom and the children to local activities and appointments (family car available for use)

Accompany Mom to the bus stop to pick up the children each afternoon

Offer a calm, steady presence in the home, especially during afternoons and evenings

Assist with light meal prep (e.g., wash and cut vegetables, prep ingredients for Mom to cook)

Grocery shopping, light tidying, and general household organization

Provide support during evening hours

Help the 6-year-old with reading and flashcards, offering patience and positive reinforcement
- Occasional Saturday support would be a major plus – Can switch days off or use to earn extra hours.
