About the Position:
A busy father on the Upper West Side with 50/50 custody of two children (ages 12 and 14) is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and dependable full-time Housekeeper who can also prepare simple, healthy meals. This is a Kosher home, so familiarity with Kosher kitchen practices—or willingness to learn—is important.

The ideal candidate is meticulous, proactive, trustworthy, and comfortable working in a family environment. They will take pride in maintaining a clean, organized home and preparing nutritious meals that support a healthy lifestyle. While the role is primarily focused on housekeeping and cooking, occasional help with the children—such as local pickups—may be needed.

Schedule

  • Sundays & Tuesdays off

  • Wednesdays & Fridays: work until 9:00 PM

  • Fridays: overnight preferred

  • Saturdays: either stay until 3:00 PM from Friday night or work 8:30 AM–3:00 PM

  • Additional hours, bringing the total to approximately 30–40 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the home; deep cleaning and daily upkeep

  • Laundry for the family, including washing, folding, and organization

  • Prepare healthy, balanced meals (decent home cooking—not chef-level) within a Kosher kitchen

  • Grocery shopping and restocking pantry/fridge

  • Keep the home tidy, organized, and running smoothly

  • Occasional school/activity pickups for the children (ages 12 & 14)

  • Provide support during Shabbat routines, including the required Friday overnight stay

  • Communicate clearly with the principal and anticipate household needs

Ideal Candidate

  • Very meticulous and takes pride in their work

  • Strong housekeeping skills; thorough and efficient

  • A good home cook with interest in healthy, family-friendly meals

  • Familiar with Kosher practices or open to learning

  • Hardworking, responsible, and highly trustworthy

  • Warm, kid-friendly, and comfortable around preteens/teens

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to manage tasks independently
