Private Family in New York, New York Seeking a Pet Care 

Position: Part-Time Live-Out Pet Care Specialist
Schedule: If needed for dog sitting

  • Saturday: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

  • Sunday: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

         Friday: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM ( 3 days/week housekeeping)
         Wednseday 

​​​​​​         Monday: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
          Wednesday  11am – 6pm 

  • Salary: $35 per hour, depending on experience; open to discussing potential healthcare contribution

Start Date: Flexible for the right fit
Relocation: No – local candidates only

About the Family

A warm and welcoming private family located in New York, New York is looking to hire a dedicated and professional  housekeeper/Pet Car  to join their household. They value reliability, flexibility, and someone who will become a consistent and trusted presence in their home.

Children: None
Home Size: Private residence
Pets: One 16-month-old, 64 lb Labrador experiencing some separation anxiety, and one 6-year-old, 13 lb Poodle who is more independent
Household Staff: Outside dog sitters and a regular cleaning service remain in place


Responsibilities

  • Provide loving and attentive care to two dogs of different sizes and needs

  • Stay with the Labrador while the family is out, ensuring comfort and companionship

  • Assist with dog walks, playtime, feeding, and basic routines

  • Manage household and pet-related errands as needed

  • Provide light housekeeping support (no deep cleaning required)

  • Stay overnight on occasion with advance scheduling

  • Maintain a consistent weekend and Friday/Monday presence; flexible scheduling available for candidates unable to accommodate overnights


Ideal Candidate & Personality

The ideal candidate is proactive, calm, and confident with dogs—especially a young Labrador who may experience separation anxiety. They are trustworthy, detail-oriented, and comfortable becoming a reliable, steady presence in the home. A flexible approach, excellent communication skills, and a warm, grounded demeanor are essential. The family hopes to find someone who is seeking a long-term role and will integrate smoothly into their routine.


Requirements

  • Prior experience caring for dogs, especially medium/large breeds, in a private home or similar setting

  • Excellent references

  • Legal to work in the United States

  • CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)

  • Comfortable with pets and managing two dogs at once

  • Willing to travel occasionally with the pets, if needed

  • Able to commit to occasional overnights with notice (though Friday/Monday can be adapted)

  • Reliable, punctual, and professional
