Private Family in the Upper East Side, New York, Seeking a Housekeeper
Position: Full-Time Live-Out Housekeeper
Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 9:30/10:00am–6:00/6:30pm
Salary: $25–$35 per hour, depending on experience
Start Date: End of December / Early January, as current housekeeper is departing
Relocation: No – local candidates only
About the Family
A warm and long-established family based in the Upper East Side (Madison & 89th Street) is seeking a reliable and fast-paced Housekeeper to support daily household operations. The family values trust, longevity, and professionalism. Their longtime housekeeper of over 20 years is retiring, and they hope to find another long-term fit.
Children: Adult children currently in college (no childcare required)
Home: One-level, 3-bedroom apartment
Pets: One medium-sized Australian Labradoodle requiring walks a couple of times per day
The Mrs. is a fast-moving, high-energy executive who travels frequently and relies on someone efficient, sharp, and proactive.
Responsibilities

Daily housekeeping, including tidying, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the apartment

Laundry, ironing, and wardrobe care

Errand running such as grocery pick-ups, pharmacy runs, and general household needs

Basic food preparation (simple meals such as salads, chicken, etc.)

Make beds and maintain organization of all living spaces

Walk the family’s dog a couple of times per day; assist in reducing reliance on dog walker

Light and deeper cleaning tasks as needed (family currently uses a weekend deep cleaner but is open to someone who can handle both)

Support the wife with personal tasks and household coordination, especially during her frequent travel

Travel to the Hamptons during the summer; private room and bathroom provided (typically four nights per week, with weekends off to return to the city)

Requirements
