Position: Full-Time Live-Out Housekeeper
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, (with some flexibility for occasional weekends, if needed)
Salary: $30–$35 per hour, DOE (negotiable for the right candidate)

About the Family
A busy, professional family of five located in Roslyn Harbor, NY, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Housekeeper to manage the daily upkeep and deep cleaning of their approximately 10,000 sq. ft. residence. The household includes two parents and three teenage children. The mother works from home much of the time, so the family values discretion, awareness, and respect for boundaries within the home.
Children: Three teenagers (no childcare needed)
Home Size: Approximately 10,000 sq. ft.
Pets: Two large dogs (no pet care required; must be comfortable around large dogs)
Household Staff: Family Assistant
The family also maintains a secondary home in upstate New York, which the Housekeeper may occasionally help prepare before visits and clean after the family departs.
Responsibilities

Full-charge housekeeping for a large private residence

Daily and deep cleaning, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, polishing, and sanitizing

Cleaning and maintaining kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and common areas to a high standard

Managing all household laundry, including washing, folding, ironing as needed, and proper garment care

Changing bed linens, making beds, and maintaining linen rotation schedules

Organizing pantries, closets, cabinets, and storage areas as needed

Monitoring and maintaining household cleaning supplies and communicating restocking needs

Collaborating with and taking guidance from the Family Assistant as needed

Respectful of professional work life at home – Working quietly and respectfully while the employer is working from home, with strong awareness of timing, noise, and space

Maintaining strict confidentiality and respect for the family’s privacy

Preparing the upstate New York home ahead of family visits (cleaning, stocking, general readiness) and completing post-visit cleaning, if needed

Prioritizing frequently used rooms for regular upkeep, with less-used rooms maintained on a rotating or as-needed schedule

Optional: Light cooking or food preparation if the candidate enjoys cooking (a plus, not required)

Requirements

Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a Housekeeper in a private residence of similar size

Strong knowledge of proper cleaning methods and care for high-end finishes and furnishings

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English

Excellent references from prior private household positions

Legal authorization to work in the United States

Comfortable working in a home with large dogs (no pet care duties)
