Nanny / House Manager Needed in Washington ,DC
Position: Part-Time Nanny / House Manager (25–30 hours/week Guaranteed hours)
Location: Washington, DC
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1:30 PM – 7:30 PM, with flexibility required for occasional late evenings and work-related schedule changes as needed
Salary: $30 to $35 per hour, depending on experience – Paid through Payroll company
Start Date: Flexible, ideally June 2026

Overview:
A warm, busy single-parent household in Washington, DC, is seeking a proactive and experienced Nanny / House Manager to support her 7-year-old daughter and help keep the home running smoothly. The ideal candidate is optimistic, kind, and loving, while also confident in setting firm, consistent boundaries. This is a long-term role for someone who can anticipate needs, bring calm structure to the home, and truly partner with the parent.
Childcare Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive, engaging care for a bright and active 7-year-old girl
- Confidently manage behavior with a balance of warmth and firm boundaries
- Support after-school routines, including transportation to activities (gymnastics, etc.)
- Encourage independence while maintaining structure and consistency
- Swimming required
- Foster a healthy, happy, and active lifestyle
Household Management Responsibilities:
- Prepare family dinners (HelloFresh meal kits provided)
- Household organization, including rotating clothing and keeping spaces tidy
- Vendor Management
- Assist with general household upkeep, anticipating family needs
- Errands – Groceries, returns, etc.
- Provide flexibility for occasional last-minute work events or changes
Pet Care:
- Assist with care for an 8-year-old Australian Labradoodle (feeding, occasional walks)
- Comfortable handling unexpected situations (e.g., vet visits if needed)
Travel & Flexibility:
- Mother travels approximately 1–2 weeks per quarter (candidate will need to stay with child overnight)
- Flexibility to adjust schedule during travel periods is important
- Child attends summer camp with afternoon coverage needed
Ideal Candidate:
- Experienced with school-aged children
- Naturally proactive and able to anticipate needs without direction
- Warm, cheerful, nurturing, and patient, while maintaining clear structure and boundaries
- Highly flexible and adaptable to a dynamic schedule
- Strong communicator and comfortable working closely with a hands-on parent
- Strong swimmer
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license required
