Position: Part-Time Nanny / Family Assistant 

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM–6:00 PM (30 hours per week)

  • Flexibility required to stay late during busy seasons (spring and fall)
  • Flexibility for date night and Saturday coverage as needed. 

Compensation: $30-32/hr paid via payroll

Benefits:

  • 2 weeks paid time off

  • 5 paid sick days

  • Paid holidays

About the Family

A warm, busy professional family in Bethesda, MD, is seeking a loving, energetic, and highly organized Nanny/Family Assistant to help manage their household and support their two daughters. Both parents have demanding schedules. They are looking for a true partner who can help keep afternoons and early evenings running smoothly.

Children: Two girls, ages 8 and 10 (attending two different schools)
Pets: One friendly Golden Retriever and one cat

Responsibilities

Childcare & Afternoon Coverage

  • Pick up the children from school and transport them to daily after-school activities (often at different locations)

  • Engage the girls in active, playful, and age-appropriate activities at home

  • Support homework time as needed

  • Provide warm, attentive supervision during afternoons and evenings

Family Assistant & Household Support

  • Light housekeeping related to the children and daily flow of the home, including:

    • Cleaning up after breakfast

    • Vacuuming the kitchen

    • Making the children’s beds

    • Children’s laundry

  • Assist with weekly meal planning and light meal prep

  • Run occasional errands (post office, grocery runs, returns)

  • Feed pets and provide occasional dog walks as needed (daily dog walker is already in place)
     

Ideal Candidate & Personality

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is energetic, organized, and comfortable managing logistics on the go. Someone who enjoys being active, playing games, and engaging with school-aged children will thrive in this role. The family has had success with nannies who bring enthusiasm and creativity to their work.

Strong problem-solving skills, flexibility, and clear communication are essential, as schedules may change and late evenings will occasionally be required. The girls are affectionate and cuddly, so a warm, nurturing presence is important.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a nanny

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

  • Comfortable driving children to and from activities

  • Comfortable with dogs and cats

  • Authorized to work in the United States

  • Excellent references
