Position: Part-Time, Live-Out Family Assistant
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM (28 hours per week)
Compensation: $28–$35/hour
Start Date: ASAP
Travel: During the summer, the family spends more time at their beach house in Spring Lake, NJ. While hours will be lighter, pay will remain consistent, and all travel time will be compensated.
Relocation: No – local candidates preferred
About the Family: A kind, organized, and welcoming private family in Summit, NJ is seeking a reliable and proactive Family Assistant to support the smooth operation of their household. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys managing household tasks, running errands, and being a trusted extra set of hands.
Children: Two teenagers, ages 15 and 17
Pets: One friendly Goldendoodle (25 lbs)
Household Staff: Professional housekeepers handle deep cleaning
Responsibilities
- Grocery shopping and maintaining household inventory
- Simple meal planning and preparation for family dinners (e.g., baked chicken, pasta, basic home-style meals)
- Laundry and ironing for the household
- Light housekeeping and daily tidying to maintain an orderly home
- Overseeing and coordinating deep cleaning with professional housekeepers
- Running errands such as post office visits, returns, car servicing, and miscellaneous household needs
- Managing household calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating logistics
- Liaising with household service providers (e.g., plumber, landscaper, maintenance professionals)
- Handling basic household maintenance tasks, such as changing lightbulbs and tightening door handles
- Unpacking, organizing, and resetting the home after weekend trips to the family’s beach house
- Driving the 15-year-old to activities as needed (clean driving record required)
- Walking and caring for the family dog

Requirements
- Prior experience in a similar Family Assistant, Household Assistant, or private home role
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, presentable appearance
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Comfortable working around teenagers and pets
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Spanish-speaking is a plus, but not required
