Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM (40 hours guaranteed; flexibility for 40–50 hours per week)

A warm, welcoming family in Long Beach, NY is seeking a nurturing, experienced, and collaborative full-time nanny to care for their 4-month-old baby boy. This is their first child, and the mother owns her own business and works from home. She is open-minded, and eager to partner with a knowledgeable nanny who can offer guidance, suggestions, and support as their son grows and develops.

Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, loving, and developmentally appropriate care for a 4-month-old infant
- Support and encourage developmental milestones, including tummy time, motor skills, and age-appropriate learning activities
- Confidently suggest alternative approaches, techniques, and ideas to support development, particularly as this is the mother’s first baby
- Engage the baby in enriching activities such as walks, outdoor time, playgroups, and local classes
- Drive the baby to activities, playdates, and outings, including time spent outdoors and at the beach
- Foster a warm, stimulating, and safe environment
- Communicate regularly and openly with the mother to ensure consistency and alignment in caregiving
- Adapt activities as the child grows more active and energetic
- Light child-related tasks (tidying play areas, preparing bottles/feeding items as needed)
Ideal Candidate
The ideal nanny is warm, energetic, communicative, and confident in infant care. They enjoy collaborating with parents, sharing insights, and being part of a team.
They should be comfortable working in a home where a parent works remotely and able to balance independence with collaboration. A love for outdoor activities, fresh air, and engaging experiences is essential.
Requirements
- Proven experience caring for newborns and infants
- Strong understanding of infant developmental milestones
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (a personal car is not required; family vehicle may be available)
- Comfortable driving the baby to activities and outings
- Reliable, communicative, and professional
- Energetic and physically able to keep up with an active child as he grows
- Seeking a long-term position
Additional Details
- Public transportation is approximately ½ mile from the family’s home; the mother is happy to assist with pick-up if needed
