About the Family

A warm, structured, and highly organized family of three in Greenwich is seeking a seasoned Household Manager / Executive Housekeeper to join their home long-term.

  • Children: One 9-year-old daughter

  • Pets: Three friendly dogs (Maltipoo, Pomeranian, and Australian Shepherd)

  • Home Size: Approximately 14,000 sq. ft. residence (not all rooms require daily attention)

  • Household Staff: Cleaning service in place (Greenwich and Hamptons) for deep cleaning until full-time housekeeping staff is hired

The home runs well. The family is seeking a highly capable professional who will take full ownership of the household, ensuring it operates smoothly, efficiently, and to the elevated standards they are accustomed to.

This is a collaborative, respectful home that values discretion, intelligence, structure, and excellence.

The Role

This is a true Household Manager role with Executive Housekeeping expertise.

The ideal candidate approaches the home with an estate manager-level mindset — overseeing operations, staffing, vendors, systems, and standards — while remaining capable of stepping in hands-on when needed.

You will be the engine behind the home and the mother’s trusted right hand — anticipating needs, guiding structure, and ensuring that every detail is handled proactively.

This role will evolve over time as the family’s needs grow, making it ideal for a long-term household professional seeking leadership within a private residence.

Core Responsibilities

Household & Estate Management

  • Full ownership of daily household operations

  • Ensure the home is consistently maintained to guest-ready standards

  • Oversee cleaning service and future housekeeping staff

  • Assist in identifying staffing needs and participate in hiring

  • Manage vendors, contractors, maintenance schedules, and service appointments

  • Proactively identify improvements and implement organizational systems

  • Oversee both Greenwich and Hamptons residences

  • Manage household budgets related to supplies and operational needs

Systems, Inventory & Organization

  • Maintain full household inventory (pantries, household items, toiletries, linens)

  • Ensure the home is properly stocked to the family’s preferences at all times

  • Seasonal closet turnover and organizational projects

  • Oversee professional linen service (linens sent out for pressing)

  • Coordinate packing/unpacking for travel and summer relocation

Wardrobe & Fine Materials Expertise

  • Expert knowledge of luxury fabrics and high-end finishes (marble, stone, hardwood)

  • Determine what is laundered in-house vs. sent to dry cleaning

  • Impeccable bed making and linen presentation

  • Closet and wardrobe organization

  • Lady’s maid sensibility and discretion

  • Skilled ironing and steaming (including school uniforms)

Family & Lifestyle Support

  • Morning routine: wake daughter, prepare uniform, prepare and serve breakfast

  • After-school support: snack preparation, activity drop-offs, homework readiness

  • Assist with evening wind-down routine

  • Family would love someone who enjoys fashion and trends and can have fun helping their daughter with outfits and style

  • Light pet care (must love children and dogs)

Kitchen & Cooking Support

This role requires someone who is confident and comfortable in the kitchen.

  • Prepare breakfast daily for the child

  • Assist with family meal preparation and light cooking

  • Confidently prepare simple, healthy meals when needed

  • Support dinner service and occasional entertaining

  • Maintain kitchen organization and standards

This is not a private chef role, but the ideal candidate enjoys cooking, is capable of preparing well-executed meals, and is comfortable supporting the family’s nutritional preferences.

Living Accommodations

Private lower-level bedroom with en-suite bath and natural light.
Private kitchenette (microwave, crock pot, refrigerator, etc.).

Flexible live-in arrangement: Monday–Friday or full-week live-in.

Ideal Candidate & Personality

This role is ideal for a polished, intelligent, emotionally intuitive professional who combines executive housekeeper expertise with strong household management capability.

You think like an owner, not an employee — taking full accountability for how the home functions day to day.

You are:

  • Highly detail-oriented and proactive

  • Calm, discreet, and emotionally intelligent

  • Savvy, organized, and operationally strong

  • Capable of leading staff while remaining hands-on when necessary

  • Experienced in high-end private households

  • Expert in laundry, garment care, and wardrobe organization

  • Family would love someone who enjoys fashion and trends and can have fun helping their daughter with outfits and style

  • Service-minded with a long-term mentality

  • Mature, professional, and respectful

Must love children and dogs.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience as a Household Manager, Executive Housekeeper, or Estate Manager in a high-end private home

  • Strong vendor management and operational oversight experience

  • Expertise in luxury garment care and fine materials

  • Excellent, verifiable references

  • Legal to work in the U.S.

  • Must have a valid U.S. Passport for international travel

  • Comfortable with travel (Hamptons and occasional international trips)

  • Professional presentation and demeanor

This is an exceptional opportunity for a high-level household professional who wants to grow with a family and truly take ownership of a beautifully run home. The family is seeking a long-term, trusted partner who will become an integral part of their household and help guide it as their needs evolve over time.
