Private Family in Laurel Hollow, NY Seeking a Nanny/Housekeeper
Position: Full-Time Live-Out Nanny/Housekeeper
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM–7:00 PM ( can provide more hours for the right candidate)
Salary: $35–$40 per hour
Start Date: Flexible / ASAP
Relocation: No – local candidates only
About the Family
A warm and welcoming private family located in Laurel Hollow is looking to hire a dedicated and professional Family Assistant to help keep their household organized and running smoothly. The family has a relaxed and casual environment and is seeking someone who is proactive, organized, and comfortable multitasking in a busy home. Discretion and trustworthiness are extremely important, as the family values their privacy.
Children: One son, age 5
Home Size: Approximately 4 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms (under 3,000 sq ft)
Pets: One cat
Household Staff: Weekly professional housekeepers handle deep cleaning
Responsibilities
- School pick-up (approximately a 7-minute drive from the home) if needed
- After-school supervision
- Fridays require more hands-on care as the child is dismissed at 12 PM
- Other weekdays school dismissal is typically between 3–4 PM
- Daily household upkeep including laundry, dishes, vacuuming, making beds, organizing, and taking out the trash
- Light cleaning and maintaining general order in the home (deep cleaning handled weekly by housekeepers)
- Household organization and assisting with general household management
- Occasional errands as needed
- Cooking or meal prep is a plus but not required
Ideal Candidate & Personality
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and a true self-starter who has prior experience working as a Family Assistant and understands how to multitask in a busy household. The family is looking for someone who can take initiative, anticipate needs, and help keep the home running smoothly.
This role requires someone who is trustworthy, discreet, and respectful of the family’s privacy, and who would never share personal family information outside the home. The candidate should also enjoy interacting with children and be comfortable stepping in when needed.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a similar role in a private household
- Excellent references
- Legal to work in the United States
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (family car available or candidate may use their own)
- Comfortable with pets
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Cooking or meal prep skills are a plus but not required
