Position: Full-Time House Manager / Housekeeper
Location: Kiawah Island, Charleston, SC
Schedule: Monday – Friday, approximately 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible structure; errands typically handled at the start and end of the day) – client is flexible for the right candidate.
Salary: $30-$40 per hour, depending on experience

A private, frequently traveling couple is seeking a hands-on House Manager / Housekeeper to take full ownership of the day-to-day functionality of their home. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats and takes pride in keeping a home running seamlessly, both when the principals are in residence and while they are away.
The household is primarily two adults, with occasional extended stays (approximately three months per year) from the principal’s parents in the guest house. The principals are away from home more often than they are in residence, so the home requires consistent oversight, upkeep, and thoughtful preparation for their return.
This role blends traditional housekeeping with proactive household management. The family prefers one dedicated, full-time professional rather than multiple part-time staff members, and is looking for someone who can become the steady, reliable backbone of the home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full-charge housekeeping: cleaning, laundry, ironing, and maintaining overall organization
- Preparing the home for the principals’ return (fresh linens, stocked kitchen, tidy and welcoming environment)
- Managing household inventory, including groceries, household supplies, and entertaining areas
- Running errands such as grocery shopping, returns, donation drop-offs, and package management
- Closet organization, seasonal “flipping” of wardrobes, and linen management
- Maintaining organization of storage areas, décor (including seasonal/holiday items), and household systems
- Pet care for cats, especially while the principals are away
- Ensuring the home remains active, maintained, and well cared for during extended periods of absence

- When the principals are in residence (typically about one month at a time), there is a stronger focus on hands-on cleaning and active household support
- When they are away, the expectation remains a consistent 40-hour work week focused on upkeep, organization, pet care. and household management tasks
- The family values having their space to themselves in the evenings and is not seeking someone to be present beyond working hours
