JOB DESCRIPTION:
PERSONAL ASSISTANT, MANAGING A TEAM of APPROX. 10 CAREGIVERS
Schedule: Monday-Friday 9:00AM till 3:00PM and on call for Emergencies
Location: Mid country Greenwich, CT
Travel: Not required
This position is to provide support to a 38 year old woman who lives in her own home next door to her parent’s home. She is bed bound with a chronic illness, (MECFS), requiring 24/7 care.
*The PA will work primarily in the parent’s home, however, due to the daughters allergies, the PA is required to shower and change if/when entering the daughters home, and also MUST wear a mask, gloves, and shoe coverings.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
*Manage caregivers schedules to ensure there is always someone on duty 24/7
*Job Post caregiver position description on various sites and refresh/remove as needed
*Explore all means of advertising (facebook groups, nursing schools, etc)
*Screen and interview qualified caregivers
*Oversee on-boarding of new caregivers (confidentiality, SS, back round checks)
*Create caregiver schedule (create, and communicate online and hard copy)
*Oversee caregivers and provide feedback as needed; talk to them, get to know them
*Update caregiving manual as needed and video new training procedures
*Prepare payroll every other week (check time cards, rate, verify with schedule, provide a weekly overview)
*Manage prescriptions and ensure they are filled on time and the correct medicines are taken on the right days at the right time
*Work with nurse in Dr’s office and work with IV nurses on administering a planned IV infusion twice a week
*Arrange medical testing when needed (home EEG’s, etc)
*Submit medical bills to insurance. follow up with insurance and doctors offices for necessary documents
*Order supplies both care and food
*Order covid and flu tests and distribute to caregivers for their weekly testing
*Assist with responding to correspondence (email and mail)
*Personal shopping for patient
*Make appointments with needed household maintenance (plumber, electrician, etc)
*Keep a daily notebook of to do’s
*Close communication with patient, house manager and parents
Requirements/Qualifications:
*3+ years of experience working in a home environment
*Solid computer skills; proficiency posting jobs on various websites to secure appropriate caregivers
*Strong communicator, both written and verbal
*High integrity patient, compassionate, hardworking, committed and reliable
*Highly proactive and resourceful, able to solve problems with minimal oversight
*High level of discretion, loyalty and empathy for the bed bound patient
*Ability to adjust to and accommodate changing circumstances. Must be agile and flexible
*Professional and highly organized
*Adhere to confidentiality agreement and exceptionally trustworthy
*Valid Driver’s License, U.S. citizen and reliable transportation to get to and from work
*No recreational drug use
Must have experience MANAGING A TEAM
References: Minimum of 2 References
Background: Background checks upon a contingent offer of hire
Target Compensation/Benefits:
*Competitive salary: $50.00 -$60.00 per hour, flexible, commensurate with experience
*Paid Time Off: 1 week vacation
*With advance notice, the Principal can be flexible with the PA regarding a day off as needed.
