Job Description: Full-Time Special Needs Nanny – Essex Falls, NJ
A loving family in Essex Falls, NJ, is seeking a compassionate and experienced full-time special needs nanny to care for their 16-year-old daughter. The ideal candidate will be warm, engaging, and strong enough to assist with transfers, while also fostering a sense of normalcy and joy in her daily life.
Responsibilities

Daily Care
- Help the daughter get ready for school in the morning.
- Be on call during school hours (mom works in the city three days per week) in case of any emergencies.
- Meet her at the bus at 2:45/3 PM.
- Assist with walks, visits to the park, and other engaging activities.
- Feed her (via tube feeding), give her baths, and assist with bedtime (9 PM).

Weekend & Flexibility
- Be available for occasional late-night care if parents are not home.
- Provide care one weekend night per month, usually a Friday (with prior notice and additional pay).

Physical Assistance
- Safely transfer the daughter, who is wheelchair-bound and weighs approximately 85 lbs.
- Ensure her safety and comfort during all activities.

Emotional Engagement
- Engage with the daughter in a loving and interactive way to make her life as normal and joyful as possible.
- Build a warm and caring relationship with her, fostering human connection and companionship.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children with special needs is highly preferred.
- Physical ability to safely transfer an 85-lb wheelchair-bound child.
- Kind, loving, and patient personality with a genuine interest in connecting with children.
- Flexibility to stay late or adjust the schedule as needed.
- Driving distance from Essex Falls, NJ, is required.
- Live-in availability is ideal.
Compensation & Schedule
- Salary: $1,200–$1,400 per week, based on experience and qualifications.
- Additional pay for one weekend night per month (with prior notice).
- Flexible schedule based on the family’s needs.
- Comfortable live-in accommodations, if applicable.
