Position Overview:
A loving family in Highland Mills, NY, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated nanny to care for their delightful 4-year-old son, who has (Down syndrome). This role requires a split schedule to accommodate school and therapy sessions. The nanny will play a crucial role in daily care, development, and therapy participation, while also becoming a valued member of a warm, bustling household with five other children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Morning Routine: Help get ready for school, including dressing, breakfast preparation, and seeing him off.
- Afternoon/Evening Care: Provide care and companionship after school, including preparing snacks and meals, engaging in playtime, supporting bedtime routines, and assisting with bath time.
- Therapy Support: Participate in-home therapy sessions (5 per week) to learn and implement therapy techniques during playtime.
- Nighttime Assistance: Support use of CPAP for sleep apnea (training provided).
- Engagement: Foster a loving, nurturing, and stimulating environment for Jacob to thrive and grow.
Schedule:
- Split schedule: morning shift before school and afternoon/evening shift after school.
- Sunday–Friday or Monday–Saturday, with at least one weekend day required.
- 8 hours/day, with additional hours compensated at the hourly rate.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly rate: $35–$40/hour (8 hours/day guaranteed; additional hours paid accordingly).
- Private basement suite with a bathroom (tub and shower installation underway).
- Food and transportation provided. Access to UberEats for meals or the option to cook.
- Access to washers and dryers for personal and baby laundry.
- Full-time housekeeper support.

He thrives on positive interactions, playtime, and structure. The nanny will join a vibrant household with four doting older sisters (ages 16, 13, 10, and 6) and a twin brother who adore Jacob. The family values connection and welcomes the nanny to participate in family activities and discussions.
