A single dad in Bowie, Maryland, is seeking a a Live In or Live Out Nanny to provide care and support for his 11-year-old special needs son. The son is energetic, hasn't been formally diagnosed with being on the spectrum, and is extremely high functioning. The family is looking for someone to provide structure, engage the child in activities, and ensure his well-being.
Responsibilities:

Morning Routine:
- Arrive at 6:00 AM to get the child ready for the day.
- Ensure he is prepared for school.
- Supervise breakfast and ensure he is on time for the school bus, which arrives between 7:20-7:45 AM.

Light Housekeeping:
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks – cleaning up after the son, tidying up, doing dishes, etc.

Afternoon and Evening Care:
- Be available from 4:00 PM to 8:30/9:00 PM to provide after-school care and support.
- Engage the child in activities and help with homework as needed.
- Ensure his safety and well-being.

Outdoor Activities:
- Take advantage of the nearby park to engage the child in outdoor activities and play.
- Encourage physical activity and provide stability.

Transportation:
- The family has three vehicles that can be used for transportation if needed.

Spanish Speaking:
- Spanish-speaking candidates are a plus!

Vaccination:
- The family requires the nanny to be fully vaccinated.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children, especially those with special needs or ADHD.
- Patience, understanding, and the ability to manage potential aggressive behavior.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Ability to provide structure and routine for the child.
- Willingness to engage in outdoor activities and keep the child active.
The hourly rate is negotiable, 30+/hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
