We are a warm and welcoming family residing in the Upper East Side of New York City. Our household consists of three children, with the oldest attending school until 5:00 PM, the second being picked up by grandparents at noon, and the youngest, a 1.5-year-old, who requires primary care during the day. We are seeking a temporary nanny/housekeeper to join our family and provide excellent care to our youngest while also maintaining the household for 6 months duration.. Monday through Friday, 7:30AM to 8:30PM. The position will start the end of October . The older children will be in Switzerland permanently during that time. When the toddler is in Switzerland, the duties will be taking care of the toddler primarily while do housekeeping as much as possible. It would be great to have someone that has a European passport or at least a US passport. Must be able to travel for one month internationally from December to January.
Job Description:
Nanny Responsibilities:
- Primarily responsible for the daily care and well-being of our 1.5-year-old child.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for the child's growth and development.
- Engage in age-appropriate activities, playtime, and educational experiences.
- Prepare and feed meals and snacks for the child.
- Change diapers and assist with potty training.
- Ensure the child's nap and bedtime routines are followed.
- Escort the older child to school and assist with pickups when necessary.
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding the child's daily activities and milestones.
Housekeeping Responsibilities:
- Perform full housekeeping duties, including cleaning, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
- Wash dishes, clean kitchen surfaces, and maintain a tidy kitchen area.
- Manage laundry, including washing, folding, and putting away clothes.
- Change bed linens and perform weekly bedding changes.
- Maintain a clean and organized household environment.
- Perform general cleaning and tidying tasks as needed.
- Assist with grocery shopping and occasional errands.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a nanny or housekeeper with references.
- Experience caring for infants and toddlers.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Must be passport ready for potential travel needs.
Additional Information:
- The position is temporary, starting at the end of October and concluding in February.
- The family may require occasional travel, so flexibility is appreciated.
