Live-in Nanny/Housekeeper

Easy going family in Falls Church, VA is seeking a kind and experienced Live-In Nanny/Housekeeper. This position involves caring for their 2-year-old daughter and assisting with household chores. Mom works from home and is pregnant.

The ideal candidate will be compassionate, organized, and proactive, capable of managing both childcare and light housekeeping duties efficiently. The role will evolve to include occasional support with their newborn due in August. The live-in accommadation is a separate bedroom, bathroom and sitting area in the basement with it's own entrance. 

Responsibilities:

• Get daughter ready for daycare, feed her breakfast and transport her to daycare at 9:00 am. Mom will pick her up at 4pm.
• Engage actively and show genuine interest in their daughter's development through play, educational activities, and outings.
• Assist with light housekeeping duties including laundry, kitchen cleaning, organization, vacuuming, dusting common areas, and grocery shopping.
• Perform meal preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables and preparing family meals. Parents do the cooking.
• Provide support to the mother with newborn care and light housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Accommodate occasional travel with the family.
• Respect and care for the family's gentle Golden Doodle.

Working Hours Breakdown (45 total):

• Monday – Friday: 7:00 am – 9:30 am (Morning childcare) Get daughter ready and off to daycare
• Monday – Friday: 5:00 pm – 7:30 pm (Evening childcare) Meal prep, feed daughter, meal prep and bath
• Additional 3 hours during the day for light housekeeping (flexible scheduling)
• One weekend day per week for 4 hours (flexible scheduling)

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a nanny/housekeeper.
• Experience with newborns and babies.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules and responsibilities.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Family will provide car for use.
• Must be comfortable with dogs.
