Wind River Holdings, L.P. (“Wind River”) is a family-owned business located in King of Prussia, PA. For nearly 100 years, Wind River has provided management services to companies in the manufacturing, franchising, and service industries. Currently, Wind River provides management services to three operating companies and manages investments in real estate, marketable securities, and alternative assets held by several legal entities, which are ultimately owned by a series of family trusts.

The primary function of the Senior Accountant position is to maintain the books and records for the entities that hold the CEO’s personal residences and corporate aircraft and report related expenditures to the CEO on a periodic basis. The Senior Accountant will also maintain the books and records for the family trusts in accordance with fiduciary accounting rules. Wind River currently uses Microsoft Dynamics SL (formerly “Solomon”) but is in the process of moving to Microsoft Dynamics 365. The Senior Accountant will report to the Corporate Accounting Manager, although they will frequently communicate and meet with the CEO and/or their spouse to collect invoices, report expenditures, and to forecast expenses related to the personal residences. Below is a more detailed listing of responsibilities:
 

  • Process invoices for payment and review to ensure duplicate payments are not made

  • Track expenses by project and compare to projected costs

  • Record recurring and non-recurring journal entries as needed

  • Periodically meet with the CEO and/or their spouse report on financial results

  • Prepare annual expense budgets for personal residences and compare to actual results

  • Oversee household employees’ payroll processed by third party payroll provider and communicate any changes

  • Collect and maintain vendor W9 forms

  • Process year end 1099s

  • Maintain a record of capital expenditures either in Excel or Sage Fixed Assets software and reconcile to the general ledger

  • Record Trusts’ activity to general ledger and track assets between principal and income

  • Maintain a detailed filing system in SharePoint for the records generated from the above

  • Effectively utilize Excel and Word for special projects as needed

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting

  • 7+ years of accounting experience

  • Strong foundation of basic accounting concepts including debits and credits

  • Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus

  • Trust accounting experience a plus or the willingness to learn (Wind River will provide necessary resources)

  • Experience in Excel and familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 software products

  • Good communication skills, both written and oral

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask

  • Ability to use common sense judgement to identify errors

  • The Senior Accountant will have access to highly confidential information and therefore the highest level of professionalism and discretion is a must.
