Full Time, Live-Out Family Assistant/After School Care in Southampton, NY!

A dynamic and fast-paced family based in Southampton, NY is looking for a reliable and efficient Family Assistant to provide on-site support to a busy household. The role will involve handling various daily tasks such as driving children (three girls ages 17, 15, and 8), running errands, grocery shopping, and assisting with other household needs. The Family Assistant will work to ensure the smooth operation of the household. The ideal candidate will possess adaptability and a proactive approach to handling tasks as they arise, with a strong emphasis on flexibility and independent problem-solving. 

Location: Southampton, NY 
Schedule: Live-Out* Monday – Friday, likely 9:00 am to 6:00 pm with some flexibility (i.e. 9:30 am to 6:30 pm)
**Option for the role to be Live-In/Live-Out for the right candidate** – i.e. live-in M-F, go home on the weekends
Salary: Full-Time, $35+/hour, on Payroll, Commensurate with Experience, Negotiable for the Right Candidate
 

About the Family:

The family consists of a couple and their three girls (ages 17, 15, and 8 years old). The girls are very kind, thoughtful, self-sufficient, well-behaved, and emotionally intelligent girls. Their 2 dogs (a Goldendoodle and an English Bull Terrier (the Target dog) ) are also an essential part of the household, so dog lovers are encouraged to apply!

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Transportation: Driving children to/from school, activities, appointments, and other destinations as scheduled and needed.

  • Errands: Run various household errands in the area, including shopping, picking up packages and prescriptions, dry cleaning, and other household-related errands as needed.
  • Grocery and Supply Shopping: Maintain a list of household needs and perform regular grocery and supply shopping to ensure the household is well-stocked with necessary and required items. 
  • Meal Preparation: Prepare various meals for the family as needed, especially ensuring kids have snacks and meals. 
  • Household Support: Assist with household tasks such as organizing, light cleaning, supporting vehicle maintenance, handling the dishes, taking out the trash, coordinating and overseeing service providers (i.e. cleaners, maintenance, service, etc.), and pet care (feeding, taking to vet, etc.)
  • Coordination: Manage and prioritize tasks, ensuring family needs are met promptly and efficiently
  • Occasional House and Pet Sitting Duties as Needed
  • Occasional Overnight Stays with the Girls as Needed

Qualifications:

  • Background check upon a contingent offer of hire
  • Driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task efficiently
  • Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the local area and ability to navigate efficiently
  • Basic understanding of child safety and care. CPR Certification is a PLUS!
  • Fluency in Italian is huge plus, but not required

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry groceries and other household items
  • Comfortable driving for periods of time
  • Ability to handle physical activities related to household tasks
