Seeking a dedicated and responsible Weekend Nanny to provide exceptional care for two children, in Southampton, New York. The position would ideally be live in during the weekend, or if someone is flexible to working long hours with flexibility – live out could work too The ideal candidate will be an energetic and engaging individual who can accompany Dad #1 on weekends to various fun and enriching activities, ensure the children's well-being, assist during meals, and help with light household tasks related to the children's care.
Responsibilities:
1. Weekend Activities:
- Collaborate with Dad #1 to plan and participate in engaging weekend activities such as park visits, trips to kids' museums, attending pop-up events in town, arranging playdates, and enjoying time at the beach.
- Stay updated on local events and activities suitable for children's ages and interests, researching and suggesting options for weekend outings.
2. Mealtime Assistance:
- Assist during meal times both at home and when dining out at restaurants, encouraging the children to eat a balanced meal with an emphasis on vegetables and protein consumption before or in between carbohydrate bites.
- Accompany the children to the bathroom during meals or supervise one child at the table while Dad attends to the other child's needs.
3. Preparations:
- Organize the children's clothes for the upcoming day, including setting out appropriate attire such as soccer uniforms for sports activities.
- Pack snack bags and water bottles for outings, and ensure school bags are ready and school clothes are set out for the following week.
- Set the breakfast table the night prior to ensure a smooth start to the morning routine.
4. Bedtime and Bath Routine:
- Assist in setting out pajamas and pull-ups before bath and bedtime routines. Note that bath and bedtime are primarily managed by the fathers.
- Provide support as needed during the children's bedtime routine, ensuring a calm and soothing transition to sleep.
5. Kids Laundry and Light Cleaning:
- Handle children's laundry, including stain removal, light ironing or steaming, and selecting appropriate drying methods for various clothing items.
- Maintain a neat and organized environment by tidying up the children's play area, ensuring toys are neatly stored, and folding clothes neatly in closets.
- Address any child-related messes in the car, ensuring a clean and hygienic environment.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a nanny or in a childcare role.
- A genuine passion for working with children and helping them learn and grow.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with parents.
- Energetic, patient, and creative personality with a talent for planning engaging activities.
- Ability to ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times.
- Organizational skills to manage children's schedules and belongings effectively.
- Basic knowledge of meal planning and nutrition for children.
- Flexibility to work weekends and adjust to changing routines.
