A private, high-energy household in Rowayton, CT is seeking a professional, proactive, and detail-oriented Live-In Cook / Housekeeper to join their team. The household is well-supported with additional staff, including a Property Manager/Driver, and is looking for someone who works well collaboratively while also taking initiative independently.
This is a warm, dynamic home with adult family members and occasional weekend activity, especially during the summer months. The ideal candidate will be flexible, organized, and enjoy being in a family environment, including being comfortable around children.
Position Overview
This is a full-time, live-in position that combines hands-on housekeeping with daily cooking responsibilities. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the home, while also preparing healthy, high-quality meals.
The schedule follows a split shift:
- Morning: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Break: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
- Evening: 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Flexibility is essential, including working weekends during the summer and some holidays. The role offers lighter hours (approximately 5–6 hours per day) when the family is traveling.
Responsibilities
- Prepare daily meals (Mediterranean-style, with a focus on vegetarian, fish, and chicken dishes)
- Maintain overall cleanliness and organization of the home
- Perform daily housekeeping tasks including cleaning, tidying, and upkeep
- Laundry and light ironing
- Grocery shopping and household errands
- Light floral arranging and household presentation
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with other household staff
- Assist in maintaining a warm, welcoming environment for the family
