About the Principal

A private principal who recently relocated from the East Coast to Portland is seeking a highly capable, long-term Personal Assistant to help manage her day-to-day life and household operations. This is a high-trust, dynamic role for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

The principal values loyalty, discretion, and genuine connection, and is looking for someone who will become a long-term, integral part of her life and team.

About the Role

This position blends personal, household, and business support, focusing on three primary areas of responsibility:

1. Dog Care (Large-Breed Dog- Bull Mastiff)

  • Oversee all aspects of care (feeding, supplies, scheduling walks)
  • Coordinate vet appointments
  • Assist with sourcing support for dog-related needs (e.g., handlers)
  • Ensure overall organization and wellbeing
  • Support the oversight and management of the client’s show dog, including coordination of grooming, training, and show-related needs.

2. Personal & Household Support

  • Manage errands (groceries, dry cleaning, etc.)
  • Oversee home renovation projects and coordinate contractors
  • Manage and track household operations and maintenance
  • Assist with an out-of-state rental property and liaise with property managers

3. Business Support (Evolving Role)

  • Assist with early-stage business planning and organization
  • Support hiring efforts and operational setup

Ideal Candidate & Personality

The ideal candidate is proactive, intuitive, and highly service-oriented—someone who sees what needs to be done and takes action without being asked. They also are a dog-lover – someone who is willing to get down and play with the dog, help care for him, etc.

They are warm, trustworthy, and take pride in their work, with a “no task too small” mindset. This person thrives in a hands-on role and is comfortable balancing both high-level responsibilities and day-to-day tasks.

A strong candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining discretion and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Personal Assistant (4+ years preferred)
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Tech-savvy (Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, tracking systems)
  • Local knowledge of the Portland area preferred
  • Comfortable with large dogs (dog lover required)
  • Ability to travel occasionally
  • Excellent references
  • Willing to complete background check and sign confidentiality agreement

Compensation & Benefits

  • ~$80-100K/year (DOE)
  • Payroll position
  • Health insurance stipend
  • Paid time off + standard holidays

This is a unique opportunity for someone seeking a long-term role with a principal who values trust, loyalty, and partnership.
