Job Title: Traveling Animal Caretaker / Property Manager

Location: Multi-state travel required (Wyoming, South Florida, Ohio, Virginia, and potential future property in Las Vegas)

Compensation: $150,000 annually


Position Overview

A private individual is seeking a dedicated and experienced Traveling Animal Caretaker / Property Manager to oversee the care of a variety of animals and manage multiple residential properties across several states. This unique role is ideal for a hands-on professional who enjoys travel, has strong animal care experience, and possesses practical property maintenance and management skills.


Key Responsibilities

Animal Care:

  • Provide daily care for a variety of animals, including a pony, miniature donkeys, goats, dogs, rabbits, and a ferret
  • Feed, groom, and monitor the health and well-being of all animals
  • Coordinate veterinary visits and administer basic care as needed
  • Travel with the employer and animals when required
  • Remain at designated properties to care for animals when the employer is traveling without them

Property Management:

  • Travel to each property approximately once per month to conduct thorough inspections (interior and exterior)
  • Identify maintenance needs and ensure properties are well-maintained and secure
  • Source, hire, and coordinate handymen, contractors, and service providers for repairs or projects
  • Oversee and manage all maintenance work to ensure quality and timely completion
  • Maintain records of property conditions, repairs, and vendor services

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in animal care, preferably with a range of farm and domestic animals
  • Strong handyman or property maintenance background preferred
  • Ability to travel frequently and adapt to changing locations
  • Experience managing contractors or service providers
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and trustworthy
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
  • Valid driver’s license required
