A well-established, active, and very private Washingtonian family is looking for an experienced Office and Financial Manager to work in Chevy Chase, Maryland. This person leads the operations of the office, prepares and supervises budgets, payroll, insurance, financial reporting, bookkeeping, record keeping, insurance, and works in tandem with the Household Manager, supporting all aspects of the operations of the household and management of properties. The office and household organizational systems have been in place successfully for over 20 years, with a staff of 6 full-time employees and part-time personnel who support the family’s many activities, projects, and engagements. The family values the dedication of its employees, several of whom have been with them for many years.

What Works Best for Family: It is critical that this person has a solid financial background (particularly using QuickBooks), and able to navigate numerous bill payment/insurance, etc. websites + communicate with our outside tax/legal teams, and property managers. We need a team-player, who is willing working hand-in-hand with our Household Manager + other HH staff, and who is flexible and available outside of work hours (even if just by phone), as necessary for emergencies. We need them to be able to prioritize projects and be willing to jump into anything last minute (from random errands to running important reports, calling contractors for an urgent need, etc.). This position is based in a home office, with no remote option, so experience in that environment would be helpful, but not required. We also need someone who lives nearby (less than 30 mins from Chevy Chase, MD).

About the Family

Current Staff: 3 FT Housekeepers, 1 PT Housekeeper, 1 Chef, 1 Household Manager/Executive Assistant – this position is for the Office/Financial Manager. The current employee is leaving to have a remote position.

Position Requirements

  • Work Hours: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Experience:Prior similar experience is a must 
  • References: Minimum of 2 References
  • Background: Pass stringent background checks and drug testing upon offer of hire

Position Compensation

  • Salary: $40-$50/hour; DOE
